Best Amazon Finds for Travel with Kids
Travel with young children is never easy! Most parents can empathize when they see another couple with young children on a plane, however no one really wants to sit near them! If you are like me, I am always anxious my children will kick the seat in front or scream the whole flight. My husband and I are now outnumbered with the birth of our third. So ensuring we can entertain our kids on a flight or a long car ride is a priority! I am sharing with you my tried and true Amazon finds for entertaining kids on a trip. No matter your destination or means of travel, I am certain these Amazon products will make getting there more enjoyable!

I love using Amazon Prime when I am preparing for a vacation, as I can get so many of the items I know I will need all in one swoop and they are delivered to my door! Sunscreen, check! Amazon Find: Boogie Board
This Boogie Board is AMAZING! It eliminates the mess of crayons and markers while traveling. My 4 year old loves this product! She can draw and doodle with no mess. With the click of a button, the image is gone and she can start again. It entertains her for hours! No mess, all fun! It comes in black, blue and pink. There are additional versions that are for younger children with a larger stylus. Some come with a protective sleeve, however some require additional purchase. I would definitely recommend it as it protects the board and eliminates loss of the stylus.
Amazon Find: WikkiStix Traveler Playset
WikkiStix are an ingenious product! These sculpt-able wax strings allow my kids to draw in 3D! They can create amazing creations through building with these bendable “stix” into creatures, cars, people…then deconstruct and start again. They are no mess and lightweight, making them a perfect carry-on item or easily stored for a road trip.
Amazon Find: Melissa and Doug Activity Books
Activity books offer variety of entertainment options. I particularly recommend the Melissa and Doug brand. The books are so creative and have options appropriate for younger and older kids. They are relatively inexpensive making it affordable to bring a few for each child. Given the attention span kids can have, the variety is a benefit.
Amazon Find: Kindle Fire HD 10 Kids Edition
I have to say, the Kindle Fire is our go-to travel entertainment option. I can not recommend this product enough! It is incredibly affordable and has so many options to entertain your little ones. The Kids Edition comes with a protective case that protects it from rough and tumble kids. But more importantly, it comes with a no questions asked 2 year replacement guarantee! We have already taken advantage of that once when our tablet had a unfortunate accident. The process was easy and painless.
The content for the Kindle is amazing! There are so many free games to download. Purchase also includes a one year subscription for Amazon FreeTime Unlimited which allows kids to have access to thousands of books, movies, TV shows, and educational apps. I love the parental controls which allow you to block content, place restrictions on website searches, and even time limits! It truly is an essential when traveling with kids of all ages!
Audible Audio Book App
Being an Amazon Prime member comes with multiple benefits. Having the membership and Kindles for each of my kids, I try to take advantage as many options as possible to make travel easier. My most recent Amazon find is the Audible program. Audible is an app and program through Amazon that allows you to download audio books and play them through the app on any device, including Kindle. Traveling with kids requires a caravan of bags and supplies, so carrying books adds bulk to bags and carry-ons.
